The Silversmith's Daughter

Another artwork peice for the delightful Ariandir. [link]

This is one of her own characters, Bryone: The Silversmith's Daughter, but drawn Ab stylee. Shes quite an ass-kicker so i hear, hence her "This is my serious face" look. Naturally i had to attempt to draw her in my own way using Copic markers.
I used silver ink for her brooch, her Cravette, her shoulder strap buckles and her ear-rings and for the sewn hem of her jacket. I though if she's a silversmith she must have access to large quantities of the stuff, so tried to use it about her person, without going too over the top.

I was originally going to give her a yellow ink outline and some kind of flowery background, but that didnt suit her at all. So using a scalpel i cut her from the page she was ink'd. Then i used a peice of black A4 paper and using spray mount applied little peices of silver foil wrap (Bacon foil, aluminium wrap, whatever you wanna call it) that you find in the kitchen onto the paper to give a sort of.. cracked silver mirror kinda look, which i think was a much more fitting background for her.
I love doing that kind of unusual, hands on kind of stuff. Comes from years of watching Blue Peter.

Anyays, copic markers, a little whit paint for highlites here and there and a spot of raiding the kitchen.
